For Jamaica 50, the celebration of Jamaica’s 50th Anniversary of independence, the Art Gallery of Mississauga is honoured to have Contemporary Jamaican Art, circa1962 | circa2012, a visual art exhibition to commemorate the celebration.
During the installation, the AGM asks cultural producers involved with the exhibition the following question:
What does Jamaica 50 mean to you?
Here are their responses:
Paula de Ronde, co-chair, Arts and Literature Committee, Jamaica 50 Celebration Inc.
Quentin “Vercetty'” Lindsay, spoken word poet and artist
Michael Chambers, photographer
What about you? What does Jamaica 50 mean to you?
Contemporary Jamaican Art, circa1962 | circa2012 will be at the AGM from July 12 – Sept 8.
