Hi 905 Art Chatters!
Thanks to everyone who came out to the opening of the VAM show last night. We had over 200 people, and got to meet a lot of the artists. It was such a fun event, and I’d like to thank our wonderful volunteers Antoinette, Steve and Tina for all their help. We literally couldn’t have done it without you all.
The VAM show features 60 works selected by the jurors from the 187 submissions. “Jurying a show like this is not an easy process,” jurors Corinne Duchesne and Marnie Fleming commented, because of the degree of talent, “heart, soul and intellect [that] were behind each and every submission.”
So we’d like to invite you all to come out and see the show. It’s on at the Art Gallery of Mississauga until February 26th. While the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and honourable mentions have been awarded, the People’s Choice Award, sponsored by the Art Gallery of Mississauga, is still up for grabs. Drop by the gallery, and vote for your favourite.
In the meantime, we’d like to introduce you to some of the very talented artists who are in the show. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be posting artist profiles daily. So keep an eye on this blog, and check out some of the talented artists Mississauga and the surrounding area have to offer.
VAM 33rd Annual Juried Show is on at the Art Gallery of Mississauga until February 26th. Voting for the Art Gallery of Mississauga PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD is open till then.
